Denden Summer Recap

This summer has been an exciting one for the Denden community, filled with sports highlights, cultural enrichment, and academic achievements. From our soccer and basketball teams’ victories to successful community events, here’s a look at what made this season special.

Sports Highlights

• Our soccer teams had an incredible summer, with the youth soccer team reaching the semi-finals and our basketball team making it to the finals.

• Denden proudly represented in the ERSFNA tournament held in Canada.

• We hosted home and away soccer games with the Ethiopian team, building strong ties with neighboring communities.

Culture & Community

• June was a milestone for several of our high school students who celebrated their graduation.

• July brought the annual Denden Gathering, a time for families, friends, and supporters to come together and celebrate.

• In September, we launched Tigrigna language lessons, furthering our commitment to cultural education.

• A group of boys also completed a free summer academic program with STA, reinforcing the importance of education in our community.

Denden Learning Center (DLC) Highlight

Our DLC had a successful summer, offering career and post-secondary consulting to help youth explore opportunities for the future. We also hosted ACT prep sessions and connected our young people with professionals for invaluable guidance.

As we look ahead to the winter session, we encourage everyone to register early! And don't forget — the Denden Youth Creativity Challenge will be part of our 20-year celebration, where youth will have the chance to showcase talents in writing, art, and more.
